Moses Lake Meet
July 23, 2018
This last weekend we had eight swimmers attend the Sizzlin' Summer long course meet in Moses Lake. This meet featured over twenty-five teams including several from Canada, and was a fun and hot weekend of swimming in the desert. While our numbers were small, our team spirit was high and it was great to see both the younger and older swimmers supporting each other. Team captain Ethan Downing led the charge by swimming a full twelve events for his meet schedule that included several season bests as well as a new all-time best in his 100M Breaststroke. Teammate Micah Sharples began and ended the meet with beautiful freestyle swims including breaking five minutes in the 400M Freestyle and earning a new best time in her 100M Freestyle. Hope McWilliams only competed in one event, but she made it count with her first 400M IM swim and a Champs time. Logan Robillard placed in the top four in each of his swims and dropped three full seconds in his 200M Backstroke.
Our younger swimmers also had a great meet with Pema Anain earning Champs times in both of her swims and looking incredibly prepared to race even faster there. Lauren Stephens raced hard for nine new best times including significant time drops in both of her breaststroke races and younger brother Dallin placed in all six of his events. Soa Kimstayton, our youngest swimmer placed 2nd in both of his breaststroke races with a time improvement in his 50M Breaststroke. Sizzlin' Summer was a great meet for all of these swimmers to get prepared for Long Course Champs!
