Wildkats Finish Off Undefeated Season

In the grand scheme, the outcome didn't matter, but don't tell the Willowick Wildkats that. They wanted to finish off the 2018 regular season undefeated.

From the outset, it was clear they would.

The Wildkats won six of the eight medley relays, all the 200 free races and for of the six individual medleys to start the meet, and crusied from there, beating the visiting South Euclid-Lyndhurst SeaMonkeys, 288-195.

The SeaMonkeys did its best to keep it close by splitting the 25/50 frees and the butterfly, as well as getting key secondary points in those eight races. Willowick was able to get back on track during the 50/100 frees and then slammed the door by winning seven of the eight backstroke races.

Left this summer is the two-day Championship Meet hosted both days by the SeaMonkeys.

Leading the Wildkats to their sixth and final victory of the season, were these double-winners:

  • Gia DiRinzo - 8&U 25 freestyle, 25 breaststroke
  • Colton Cutwright - 8&U 25 butterfly, 25 backstroke
  • Nathaniel Peters - 8&U 25 freestyle, 50 freestyle
  • Drew Morbeto - 9-10 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke
  • Caleb Ortman - 9-10 100 IM, 50 breaststroke
