In today's session, swimmers from across Canada raced in events 200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, and Men’s 1500 Freestyle. Swimmers also raced in the 4x100 Freestyle Relay.
LOSC swimmers raced some of their best event for the meet. Adam Schmidt swam the 1500 Freestyle. Hugh McNell swam the 100 Backstroke. Joshua Kim swam the 200 Freestyle and 200 Breaststroke. As of the culmination of Day 2, LOSC ranks 36th combined genders (6th in BC Teams), while 20th for men's (3rd in BC Teams).
Adam Schmidt (15 yrs) raced the Men’s 14-15 1500 LC metre Freestyle. Adam has consistently been getting best times since the start of the year, garnering best times in the event from Summer Tier 2 and clocking yet another 14 second best time during the Junior Championships. Adam ranked 18th, breaking the 17 minute barrier, with a time of 16:59.71.
Hugh McNeill (15 yrs) raced in the Men's 14-15 100 LC metre Backstroke prelims with a best time of 1:01.22. He ranked 1st going into the “B” Consolation final. He then clocked another best time in the event with a time of 1:00.43, winning the Consolation final.
Joshua Kim (16 yrs) raced in one of his best events, the Men’s 16-18 200 LC metre Breaststroke. In prelims, Joshua swam a time of 2:27.42. He ranked 5th going in the “B” Consolation final. He won the Consolation final with a faster time of 2:24.31.
Joshua also raced in the Men's 16-18 200 LC metre Freestyle prelims with a time of 1:57.96. He ranked 8th for the “B” Consolation final. During the consolation finals, Josh raced hard and placed 4th with a time of 1:58.02.
