Congratulations to the seven North Iowa Splash swimmers that earned state qualifying times to compete in last weekend's Long Course State Championships! Representing NIS was Aspen Cole, Lauryn Halverson, Taylor Halverson, Ben Hehr, Ryan Korthals, Aden Stroup, and Randy Vaughan.
Aspen competed in nine individual events and dropped a total of 8.79 seconds. She was the high point winner for the 11/12 year old age group. Aspen earned two 1st place finishes, four 2nd place finishes, two 3rd place finishes, and one 6th place finish.
Lauryn competed in two individual events and dropped a total of 8.99 seconds.
Taylor competed in six individual events and dropped a total of 8.77 seconds. Taylor earned a 10th place finish, and an 11th place finish.
Ben competed in four individual events and dropped a total of 14.71 seconds.
Ryan competed in one individual event and dropped a total of 3.51 seconds.
Aden competed in one individual event and dropped a total of 8.79 seconds.
Randy competed in six individual events and dropped a total of 42.34 seconds. Randy earned a 15th place finish.
The four boys competed together in four relays. They dropped a ton of time and earned an 8th place finish, a 13th place finish, a 15th place finish, and a 16th place finish.
Most importantly, the kids had a ton of fun, displayed awesome sportsmanship, and represented NIS well.
