Bolts Tie Bow on Season

Thunderbolts Travel to Can a d ia n J u n i o r S w i m m i n g C h a m p i o n s h i p s Six Thunder Bay Thunderbolt swimmers travelled to the Canadian Junior Swimming Championships in Winnipeg MB at the Pan Am Pool from July 25- 29. This is the highest National level competition for swimmers aged 18 and under. 702 athletes from across Canada represented 147 swim clubs throughout the meet. It was a fast paced meet and the Bolts swimmers once again showed that they were there to compete. Competing in the girls under 13 and 14 category were Hannah Johnsen, Isabel Harri and Jamie Puhalski . Hannah Johnsen excelled in her backstroke, breaststrroke and IM events and raced to a 4 th place finish in the 200M back and finals in all other events. Isabel Harri raced breaststroke and IM events and raced to a 4 th place in the 200M breastroke and finals in other events. Jamie Puhalski raced in the 100 and 200M backstroke events and achieved personal best times in both. Competing in the girls 15 and over were Lindsay Puhalski and Zoe Hunt. Lindsay Puhalski raced in backstroke and IM events. She not only achieved a personal best time in her 200IM but also a Canadian Trials time. Zo e Hunt raced in the 100 and 200M breastroke events and raced to a personal best in the 200M event. Cameron Johnsen competed in the boys 16-18 year old breaststroke events with a personal best time in the 100M event. The Thunderbolts have had a very successful season and are looking forward to a month of rest before beginning the 2018/2019 season.
