Christiana Regenauer Wins 50 & 100 Free At Speedo Junior National Championships

Congratulations to Christiana Regenauer for winning double gold in the Women’s sprint events the at the 2018 Speedo Junior National Championships in Irvine, California.  On Day 2, Christi won the Women’s 100 Free with a time of 55.59 becoming the first ever Junior National Champion to represent the Condors Swim Club. It was an exciting close race with Christi being tied for 1st after the first 50 with a split of 26.63.  She roared into the finish, getting her hand on the wall first by only .06 seconds. Christi dropped .33 from her previous best time which came from the Irish Open in Dublin, Ireland as part of the NCSA American All-Star Team.

On Day 5, Christiana took home her second gold medal by winning the Women’s 50 Freestyle with a time of 25.73 in another close race touching the pad just .04 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.  She came into the meet ranked 19th, and finished the morning as the top seed by winning the final heat from the outside in lane 1. Overall, Christi dropped .54 seconds from her entry time.

Christi is now tied for 20th in the Girls LCM 100 Free and ranked 36th in the Girls LCM 50 Freestyle in the USA Swimming All-Time Top 100 Rankings for 15-16 Women.  

This was the second consecutive meet held at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatic Center in Irvine.  Christi also competed in the Phillips 66 National Championships, along with teammate Emily Escobedo.
