CMAC swims strong in Mission Viejo at Junior Olympic Championships
6 CMAC athletes qualified to compete in one of the highest levels of competition that young age groupers can qualify for – the Junior Olympics. Even qualifying for this event is a huge accomplishment, and we are so proud of their efforts!
The meet was home to over 1,000 total athletes over the 4-days of competition, and thanks to speedster Noah Bahadoor (14), CMAC was able to get on the board with 7 points and a 27th place finish overall. Noah blazed the 50 free prelims in a 26.83, qualifying for the consolation final after coming in 12th. He later returned for another half-second improvement, moving up to 10th, in a swift 26.38! Well done Noah!
Cole Constantino, Jacob Stephen, Madison Stein, Aidan Arie, and Avrum Xagorarakis all combined for a nearly perfect performance, improving in event after event, racing hard, and doing it with smiles on their faces. It was great to see the camaraderie from parents and athletes, and we are looking forward to the fall season where the next major team championship in December, Winter Age Group Champs (WAG). These qualifying standards are also challenging to make, so we will be shooting to train with purpose in the fall, and put as many CMAC athletes on the roster for this meet as we can.
Great job CMAC!
