Pleasanton Seahawks Compete at US Nationals

The 2018 Phillips National Championships and World Championship Trials is one of the biggest swimming events in the US.  The fastest US swimmers competed at the William Woollett, Jr. Aquatic Center in Irvine on July 25-29.  This meet is the selection event for USA National Teams competing at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships (Tokyo, Japan), 2019 World Championships (Gwangju, South Korea), 2019 World University Games (Naples, Italy), 2019 Pan American Championships (Lima, Peru), and 2018 Jr. Pan Pacific Championships (Suva, Fiji).

Miranda Heckman, Christopher Jhong, Lleyton Plattel, and Maxime Rooney represented the Pleasanton Seahawks (PLS) Swim Team at Nationals.  Steve Morsilli is the Head Coach/CEO and Senior-Elite Group Coach.

This meet featured PLS swimmers competing in multiple finals.  The top individual performances are:  Miranda Heckman (30th in 100m & 200m freestyle, and 31st in 400m freestyle); Christopher Jhong (31st in 200m IM and 19th in 400m IM); Lleyton Plattel (31st in 800m freestyle); and Maxime Rooney (7th in 100m freestyle, 10th in 200m freestyle, and 16th in 100m butterfly).  Maxime earned a spot on the World University Games Team in the 100m freestyle.
