Tigers Shine on the Regional and National Stage

Your FAST Tigers were outstanding as they raced last weekend on the regional and national stages. FAST athletes competed at the Central Zone 14 & Under Championships in Geneva, Ohio; the NCSA Summer Swimming Championships in Indianapolis, IN; the 2018 Futures Championships in Cary, NC; the 2018 Speedo Junior National Championships in Irvine, CA; and the USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships in West Chester, OH. All told 32 athletes represented FAST at these meets - and they represented well!

In Geneva at the Central Zone 14 & Under Championships, FAST was represented by Logan Ayres, Reed Beaumont, Addision Carlile, Alex Garcia, Kate Mouser, Kyle Ponsler, Frankie Ramey, JoJo Ramey, and Tyler Schwertfeger. Between these athletes, there were 22 new lifetime best swims.  Racing to lifetime bests were: Reed Beaumont (4), Addison Carlile (3), Alex Garcia (1), Kate Mouser (2), Kyle Ponsler (5), Frankie Ramey (2), JoJo Ramey (1), and Tyler Schwertfeger (4). Way to go, Tigers!

At the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis for the 2018 NCSASummer Swimming Championships, FAST was represented by Brooke Atkins, Noah Baldwin, Morgan Booth, Jackson Carlile, Ellen Fero, Kyle Haflich, Nich Harris, Samantha Hietpas, Cory Jacocks, Abby Jahns, Savannah Kennedy, Amilia Nusbaum, Hannah Pratt, Lydia Reade, Kara Robeson, Nicole Rueff, Kyla Srncik, Drake Stallworth, and Corinne Yorkman. Between these athletes, there were 23 new lifetime best swims.  Racing to lifetime bests were: Brooke Atkins (1), Booth (1), Jackson Carlile (4), Ellen Fero (3), Samantha Hietpas (1), Abby Jahns (3), Savannah Kennedy (1), Amilia Nusbaum (1), Nicole Rueff (5), Kyla Srncik (2), and Drake Stallworth (2). Outstanding job, Tigers!

In Cary at the 2018 Futures Championship, FAST was represented by Celina German. Racing well against the 19 & Over athletes, Celina certainly earned her Tiger stripes this summer!

In Irvine at the 2018 Speedo Junior National Championships, FAST was represented by Tim Bennett and Aaron Frollo. Of their combined 7 swims, these boys had 6 lifetime bests on the national stage. Awesome job, Tigers!

Out of the pool, FAST's Gillian Cridge headed to West Chester for the USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships. Competing a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, and 5-kilometer run, Gillian captured the women's junior elite title. As Gillian told USA Triathlon in an interview after the race, "I think I executed the race really well, but a huge portion of it for me was definitely my swim because I never really know where I'm going to come out." Gillian next heads to the Gold Coast of Australia to represent the USA at the 2018 ITU World Championship. Congratulations, Gillian!

We are so proud of the efforts these athletes put into this past weekend's championship meets. Thank you to all who contributed to this weekend's successes - though your encouragement and support of these athletes and to our athletes for how they conducted themselves as they traveled across the country. Great job, Tigers! We look forward to seeing what the future holds as you reach your goals… and set new ones!

Tiger Up!
