Junior Pan Pacific Championships Updates

Brodie Young and Octavia Lau have just completed the Junior Pan Pacific Championships.

Day 1

Brodie had highlight swims in the B final of the 200 Free to start his meet, dropping his personal best time in both heats and finals to finish at 153.95.  Octavia swam the 200 Free into finals but was scratched due to the short turn around for the 800 Free.  She was 8th in the final in that event.

Day 2

Brodie was in the main event, the 400 IM where he qualifed in the B final,  At night he had a 6 second drop to get the 4:24.87 12 overall which is also his carding time for next year.  Octavia lead off the 4*200 B relay for Canada and had a very aggresive race sticking to the American girl for much of the race.  Octavia was the second fastest Canadian overall from both A and B relays.  Brodie anchored the 4*200 B relay.

Day 3

Octavia swam her 400 Free into the B final where she finished just off her best coming in 12th overall.  Brodie ended up 15th in the 400 as well.   Octavia was in second position on the 4*100 Fr Relay that night.

Day 4

Brodie swam his 200 IM into the B final where he placed 12th overall.  Octavia was 8th in the 1500 Free.

That concludes the JNr Pan Pac for these two in Fiji, now Octavia flies to Israel (via Australia and Crete) for the Open Water segement.  Good  luck to her!
