New Assistant Coach

HLA is proud to welcome on board our new Assistant Coach Eric Lewandowski. Eric has been on deck the past few practices watching/ assisting and meeting the kids. As the club grows in size so does our coaching staff. Here is brief bio on Coach Eric.

Eric began his competitive swimming career in the 4th grade with the Grand Island YMCA Quicksilver Swim Team, where he quickly fell in love with the sport. Along with swimming for Quicksilver, Eric also competed for the Grand Island Senior High Islanders for four years, where he was a 10x State medalist, and helped the team in getting current school records in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

After graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 2016, Eric decided to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he is currently a junior studying chemical engineering. Not only that, but he also joined the UNL Swim Club as a freshman, and is now serving as the President of the club. Running practices for the UNL Swim Club is what inspired Coach Eric to get fully involved with swimming again, this time in the form of coaching.

During the summer of 2018, Eric coached under coach Brian Jensen for the Grand Island YMCA Quicksilver Swim Team, where he was able to learn more about coaching and swimming, and fuel his passion for the sport. All of Eric’s experiences have led him to HLA, where he is extremely excited to work with the coaches and swimmers, learn more about the sport, and to help the swimmers achieve their goals and be a positive influence.

Please welcome our new assistant coach!
