Application now OPEN for NYAC Board of Directors

Applications are now open for election of Directors to the North York Aquatic Club board of directors.

Deadline for applications: September 20th 2018. 

Election:  September 29th 2018 

As an elected Director of the board, you are accountable to the organization's membership and will be responsible, together with the other members of the Board of Directors, for setting Strategy, Policy and direction, as well as ensuring the oversight and governance of the club, through the direction of Staff and Head Coach. 

Role and responsibility: While the day to day operational activities are taken care of by the staff and coaches, the board of directors is responsible for setting and developing policy and providing oversight and governance on behalf of the membership.  You will be required to attend one board meeting per month (3rd Monday each month) as well as taking on strategic project duties as required. You may also be required to chair a board committee.  Committees include;

  • Executive committee 
  • Finance & Audit
  • Policy and governance 
  • Athlete development & athletic Performance 
  • Communications (including social media)
  • Fundraising 

Experience:  Ideally you will have experience working with a policy governance board and be able to provide experience in one or more areas outlined within the committee structures above.  Please register your intent to run for election, together with an outline/bio of your skills and experience to Katherine Garither by 20 September 2018.

Nominations will not be accepted from the floor at the meeting.  All interested candidates must submit their intention by the deadline - 20 September 2018 

Elections will be at the upcoming Annual General Meeting to be held on 29 September 2018 at TPASC (Toronto Pan Am Sports Center), Room 3035 at 12:00 noon.
