Announcements

·         Meet Sign up: Below are the deadlines for meet sign ups. We would like everyone to go ahead and sign up for events you are interested in swimming. That will be your way of letting the coaches know what you would like to swim. Coaches will have the final say but this gives us all some more information to work with.

·         Volunteering: We are still in need of volunteers for the LST Fall Festival. Follow that link for the job sign up. Remember every family must volunteer for at least 6 shifts through the year to avoid a fine.

·         Kickoff Event: On Saturday, September 22 we will be having our annual Kickoff event. It will be held from 9:30am-noon. Here is the timeline:

o   9:30-10:30 – LST Garage Sale, Making Waves for suit sizing, equipment, team apparel

o   10:30-11:30 – General parent/athlete meeting (Little Theater)

o   11:30-noon – Group parent/athlete meeting

·         Kickoff Garage Sale: For the first hour of the kickoff, along with Making Waves being available for suit sizing and equipment/gear orders, we will have a “Garage Sale”. We will have several items from old shirts, swimming equipment, and miscellaneous items for sale for very cheap. Make sure you get there early to take advantage!

·         Car Pool: We have had several of you interested in this but would like to get as much involvement as possible. If anyone is interested/willing in participating in a car pool with other members of your group, please reply back to coach Joel and let him know. We are going to get a list distributed to each group of interested parties so we can “streamline” the process.

·         Meet on deck: All groups for all practices (regardless of time) will meet on the pool deck at the beginning of practice. You will then go as a group to the location of your dryland training.

·         Pick-up/Drop-off: Pick up and drop off will be at door number 8. Parents, please remind your athletes to change and go directly to the pool deck to meet for dryland. For pick-up, our expectation is that the athletes get picked up within 10 minutes of the practice finishing. If you have an athlete that will be picked beyond the ten minutes after practice, the swimmer must report to the pool deck and the parents must come in to pick up their swimmer. We cannot monitor the back hallway at all times so for the safety of our athletes, please try and pick up your kids in a timely manner.

·         New Members: To all the new members, welcome to the best swim club in the Indianapolis area! If you have not yet done so, please email coach Joel (joel.elber@gmail.com ) a copy of your birth certificate to go along with your first registreation.

·         Equipment List: Below is a chart of the equipment list for each group. Make sure you have these items at every practice. These items can be purchased at a discounted rate at Making Waves.

Coach’s Segment

CARD Invite: As a staff we have made a decision to make the CARD invite a team travel trip for the Keystone and Spire groups only. If you would like to attend this meet, team travel is a requirement. The Foundation and Cornerstone athletes will be at the local WAC closed invite. The only exception to this is if you have an older athlete that is attending the meet and a sibling in the foundation or cornerstone group, they may attend the meet but parents will be responsible for everything.

The objective of this meet is to bond as a team and encourage team building which is why team travel is a requirement. Logistically we needed to separate the team by group to keep one itinerary across the board in Louisville as well as maintain continuity with the coaching staff and the groups they lead.

If anyone has any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc… please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at: joel.elber@gmail.com, (317) 517-5348
