GCSTO Senior Athletes Commit To Colleges

Two GCSTO Athletes Commit To Colleges

Continuing a tradition that has spanned utter decades here at GCSTO, two more of our athletes have committed to schools in order to pursue their academic and athletic careers in college. Since 1979 (which is when we started keeping track) virtually every single GCSTO athlete who wished to pursue swimming in college has been able to find a place to do so in at a quality academic institution.

Grace Riddle & Harvey Culbert now join that core of graduates. Congratulations to these athletes for their commitments, their dedication to their careers and to their dedication to this team!

Grace Riddle: We are thrilled to announce that Grace has verbally committed to continue her academic and swimming career at Ohio University. Grace is one of two seniors in Level 5 this year and she has been training with GCSTO since she was just 11 years old. Grace holds the team records in the 13-14 girls 100 Backstroke as well as the 17-18 & Open girls 50 Backstroke. Grace has qualified for several meets like the SPEEDO Sectionals Championships and the USAS Futures Championships. Grace is excited about her senior year and has her sights set on earning a Winter Junior National cut this season. Ohio University is lucky to have a great athlete and individual like Grace join their team, as we are proud to have her as part of ours! Good luck at the next level!

Harvey Culbert:Congratulations to Harvey for verbally committing to continue his academic and athletic career at West Virginia University. Harvey and his family have been with GCSTO since 2012. During that time, Harvey has broken several team records and has qualified for, and placed at, many high-level competitions. Most recently Harvey finished 2nd place in the 200 Breaststroke at this summer’s USAS Futures Championship, and his time qualified for the Winter National Championships this November in Greensboro, NC. We are proud to call Harvey one of our own and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes at the collegiate level! Good luck, Harvey!
