Swim BC Awards Banquet:

Congratulations to Jacki Kliever recipient of Swim BC’s Volunteer of the Year.  Our club would not be the same without your tireless efforts as Club President, meet manager and chaperone extraordinaire! Thank you for all that you do!

Congratulations to Coach Tina recipient of Youth Age Group Coach of the Year, in recognition of Tyler Wall’s International medals at Junior Pan Pacific Championships.  Thank you for all your tireless hours on deck, travelling, listening, trouble shooting, adjusting, educating yourself and others.  They have all contributed the success of KISU swimmers.  We are so lucky to have such a respected and knowledgeable coach leading our amazing club!

Monday-Wednesday Practice Groups:

Juniors 1 along with all Mini Squad Groups are completely FULL on Monday and Wednesday. Group size limits are determined to provide maximum coaching quality over quantity. We realize that although this is amazing it may be tricky to coordinate all family schedules.  If referring new members to register or participate in the 2-week trial, please advise there is room only in the Tuesday/Thursday groups.

When: Friday October 26th5:00-5:45

Where: Penticton Community Centre Meeting Room 7 (upstairs by the dance studio)

Please remember that this meeting is for ALL club members, mini squad parents through to Academy. We encourage everyone to attend, as our attendance is recorded in our gaming grant reports and affects the decisions for how much grant money the club receives each year.

Our goal is to be finished by the time swimmers are out of their practice.

Board Positions up for Nomination:

President: 2-year term

Vice President: 1-year term

Secretary: 2-year term

2-Member at Large positions: 2-year term

If you would like your name to stand for one of the above positions, please email Dave Spear at

September Events:

All of our meets, time trials, social events, volunteer commitment etc, require for you to sign up on the website.  Once you have logged into your account all upcoming events can be viewed from the home screen. To view the description of the event, click on the event title on the left side of the screen.  To commit your swimmer to the event, click on the pink ‘edit commitment’ tab. From there you will be able to declare one or all of your swimmers to either attend or decline the event.  This screen will also have additional instructions such as “please indicate the total number in your family to attend” for family events.  This can be done under a single swimmer.  To sign up as a volunteer for one of our meets click on the ‘job sign up’ tab under the event.  From there you will be able to see which jobs are available for which time slots. Pick you prefer slot and click ‘sign up’ at the bottom of the screen.

September Team Practice:  September 28th

This is our first Team Practice of the season!!  Team Practice is held on the last Friday of the month.  It is a great opportunity to have some hard work and fun in the pool.  Although each month has a different activity, we often have peer teaching so there is some team bonding and interaction between our younger and older swimmers.

Age Group, Intermediates and Swim Academy: 3:30-5:30

Mini Squad, Juniors, Super Juniors: 4:00-5:30

We will be doing our KISU individual photos again this season.  If your swimmer missed having their photo taken in the first week, please have them wear their KISU shirt and head over to the diving boards at the beginning of practice.
