Week 6 - Competition as Motivation

Happy Sunday Bengal Families!

It is crazy to believe that we are in week 6 and at the half way point for many atheltes! I want to say a special shout out Thank You to all of our volunteers who helped make Bengal Invite a success! John our meet manager specifically called out our crew and our timers for doing such a great job. We could NOT have a successful program without you! Thank you thank you.

We had a great week last week with some great comptition that challenged us to step up in new ways! What a great time to talk about using competition as motiviation!

As we progress through the season our meets will continue to be close. Close meets like the one we had on Thursday is a great way for us to take the lessons learned and apply them at practice so we can be ready for our next challenege on Tuesday. Using competition as motivation does not mean we speak or think ill of our opponents, it means we use them as fuel to perform at our highest level. In training, in meets and thinking about our end of season competition, we should use those who challenge us to make sure we are doing all of the little things right, starting with the great habits we formed in week 1. Competition can even be on our team but our teammates should be used in a positive way to train harder and encourage our teammates to do the same! We will be talking alot this week on how to do this in a poaitive, constructive manor.

We have A LOT of sick kids with back to schoool germs so please make sure that if your athlete is sick you are keeping them home so they can rest, recover and be healthy for practice!

High School athletes will be riding bus 89 which will be by the Tennis Courts. It will be a normal bus route but they will be Tennis Courts
