Week 8 - Positive Mental Attitude

Happy Sunday Bengal Families! 

We are in week 8 already! I can't believe tomorrow is October! We have had such an amazing season thus far and have another month of fun and excitement ahead! We have a LOT going on this week (per usual) and for that much excitement we need to make sure we have a Postitive Mental  Attitude! (One of my FAVORITE topics!) 

A Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) is my favorite things becuase it is a choice that we can make every day! It's a choice that allows us to keep great habits, focus on our goals, be a great teammate, and all of the great things that we accomplish as an amazing Bengal Team! It is critical for success on this team AND in life. As we come into the hardest weeks of our season, a PMA is going to keep us on track to accomplishing our goals and staying foused in practice. Life gets hard with pressures of school, work, college applications, projects, mid-terms, teammates, (sometimes parents) so a positive mental attitude would keep us going through these next few weeks and the hard days. It also is essential for succss in the water.

A PMA helps push through tough meets that may knock us off our game. Coach Dave does a cheer (i mean leads them, no poms included) where the girls repeat after him: "I feel good, I feel great, I feel vital and healthy, I am alive and happy, I am ready to be fast and dive well, Go Blaine Bengals" It gets them pumped up and ready to race but my favorite part is that they are telling themselves positive affirmations about how they feel and translate into the pool! What a great way to start a meet. 

I do have an ask. I am looking for a few more parent volunteers for our meets coming up! If you have a PMA and are willing to help our team please sign up using the job sign ups for our remaining meets! We also have a craft fair coming up which is a huge fundraiser for us and it turns out it is a lot of fun! We are so grateful for all of your help and all that you do.
