Hello TorpedoesNation,

Thursday Night Practices Changes

On Thursday Oct 11th, ISU is hosting another home swim meet.  Because of this, we will not be able to practice past 7pm.  Also, we are severely limited in lane space, and therefore, we will not be able to have all groups practice. Calendars online have been updated to reflect these changes.

ACST Fall Classic

This past weekend, we had a strong turnout at the ACST Fall Classic in nearby Avon.  Only a 2 day meet, we were not the only team with an interest, as the meet was over twice the size of the same meet last year.  We had a great start to the season, with a new State time standard from Claire Parsons in the 200 free, and numerous new divisional cuts.

As a team, we finished in 7th place (of 14), and Demme Hancewicz was the High Point Award winner for 11-12 year old girls.  Great job, Demme!

Halloween Splash

Our first home meet of the season.  The meet will last 3 days, though new/younger swimmers will only compete on Sat and Sun.  Parents are expected to help work the meet, so please mark off the weekend on your calendars (friends and families are welcome too).

Coach Melissa Joins ISU Coaching Staff

This past week, Coach Melissa started a new job, working with the ISU Women’s swim team.  She will be stepping down as the lead coach for the blue and orange groups, but she will continue to help out when she can.  We wish the best of luck coaching the Sycamores.

Halloween Trunk or Treat

On Wednesday, October 31st, instead of practicing, we will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event in the aquatic center parking lot.  If you are interested in helping, please contact coach Dani (

In conjunction with this event, we will be collecting canned food to support the THS Swim and Dive canned food drive.  This annual competition goes to help feed locals during the holiday season.  Come help support THS, and help the community at the same time.

Sponsorship Relay

Due to a number of reasons, we will be postponing the Scholarship Sponsorship Relay until December 15th.

Upcoming Events:

11 Oct:  Practices amended due to ISU meet.

12-15 Oct:  Pool Closed for Fall Break.

26-28 Oct:  Halloween Splash Swim Meet
