Coach Amy’s Comments:

Happy Tuesday CGAC families! I hope you all had a relaxing Fall Break and your swimmers are ready to get back into the swim of things! Here are the things you need to know for the week of October 22:

1.) PIKE meet: The final entry was approved and sent out to Red and White Team families. Warm-up times are posted on the meet packet found on our team website under this event.

2.) NOB Meet: The final update has been submitted and we are awaiting approval from the host team. Once approval is received, I will send out the entries to the team.

3.) CGAC Jingle Bell Classic: The RSVP has closed for our first hosted home meet. However, if you missed the RSVP deadline and would still like your swimmer to participate, please email me at agcoach@cgacswim.org by 3pm Thursday, October 25. High school swimmers are eligible to participate in this meet!

4.) Halloween: There will be no AGE GROUP practices (White, Red, Black and Pre-Senior) on Wednesday, October 31st so that the swimmers can enjoy a night of trick or treating or spending time with their families.

Please see your swimmer's coaches if you have any questions.  Have a great day and see you at the pool!

Personalized Swim Caps:  If you ordered personalized swim caps from Making Waves, those orders are in! Our Team Apparel coordinator Valerie Johnson will be in the CG swim room today (10-23) and tomorrow (10-24) from 5:00 - 6:15 for CG location pick up.  Coaches from UIndy and Mooresville will bring orders to the satellite locations for pick up.

New Parent Info Meeting: Our New Parent Information meeting will be offered tonight at 6 PM at the UIndy pool for UIndy swim families.  As a new parent, if you join us this evening as well as the Swim Meet 101 at CGHS tomorrow (10-24), you will receive one volunteer credit.  This is an easy way to obtain your first volunteer credit with the club.

Swim Meet 101 Meeting: Our Swim Meet 101 Meeting will be held tomorrow (10-24) at 5:30 at CGHS in the Media Center. There is a lot to know about swim meets and you will learn everything you need to know!

Jingle Bell Meet Volunteer Sign Ups: Volunteer sign ups will be turned on Wednesday (10-24) at the conclusion of the Swim Meet 101 Meeting at approximately 6:30. We will also post to Facebook when the sign ups are turned on as well.

Ongoing Updates & Reminders

Swimmer Pick-up and Drop-Off: With several different practice times overlapping, we understand that there will be some swimmers who will be dropped-off earlier or picked-up later than their scheduled time due to a sibling’s practice schedule. However, no swimmer should be dropped-off more than 30 minutes prior to the start of their practice without parent supervision. If your swimmer is dropped-off more than 15 minutes prior to the start of practice, they must stay in the red bleachers until their group is called. Likewise, if you are picking your swimmer up more than 15 minutes after the conclusion of their practice, they also must stay in the red bleachers.  With winter sports and other activities starting up, it is not safe for children to wander around the school unattended, nor can the coaching staff run practice groups and monitor swimmers who are not practicing.  For the safety of our swimmers, if a swimmer is unable to stay in the designated area while waiting for their practices to start or for a sibling’s practice to end, then they will require parent supervision. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation on this safety matter!

High School Swimmers: You will need to get your physicals in prior to the first day of practice. Please ask your high school coach who these need to be turned in to and what other forms you may need to have on file.
