November 30, 2018
30 November 2018 (Greensboro, NC) - The US Winter National Championships got off to a solid start for Cascade with some strong swims. Cole Pratt swam a lifetime best time at night in the “B” final of the 200IM in 2:02.79. Pratt won the “banana” heat out in front of the field with a time that would have put him second in the “A” final…if he had been a bit quicker in the prelims. Remember that little boys and little girls - always put up a best time in the morning!
Day 3 of the US Winter Nationals saw the entire group of Cascade Swimmers in the pool with some great early season results.
Cascade went in to the event with essentially only one practice off the Friday before and then a day of travel for all the rest that they would get.
Alexandra Butler was 1:05.29 in the 100m backstroke.
Ella Varga was just 3/100ths of a second off of her lifetime best in prelims in the 100m back event in 1:04.44.
Matt Cyr swam his way into the “C” final of the 400IM in 4:40.15 he then followed that up with 100m backstroke in 59.82.
Cole Pratt swam into the “B” final in the 100m backstroke in 56.94.
She is our last one to get going and will have the 200m backstroke event to compete in tomorrow.
