Triple Gold for Piatek at Winter Festival

Last weekend the Killarney Swim Club was in action at the inaugural Swim Alberta Winter Festival. This competition focused on 250 swimmers aged 10 and under for girls, and 11 and under for boys.  The meet was hosted by the Cochran Comets.

Killarney was represented by 23 swimmers.  The swimmers brought home 13 medals including 3 Gold.  The team set 85 new best times.

Leading the way for Killarney was Alan Piatek.   Piatek won 3 gold medals (50 BR, 100 IM, 100 FR).  And added a silver medal in the 50 fly.   Bennett Strom also had a strong showing by picking up 3 medals.  He won silver in the 100 IM and added double bronze in the 50 fly and 100 free events.

Rounding out the medal haul was Matea Gigovic (2nd – 100 IM), Emilie Golinowski (2nd – 50 Fly, 3rd – 100 Free), Abigail Share (3rd – 100 Free).
