December 5, 2018
Celebrate the Holidays with your team mates! Swimmers will be divided into four teams to compete in fun relays, cheer competitions, and other festive events. After the pool, join us for breakfast in the deck-side classroom. We’ll have a photographer on site and will also take an updated team photo.
During this season of giving, we will be collecting for Laing House, a drop-in centre for youth aged 16 – 29 living with a mood disorder, psychosis and/or anxiety disorder. Based on peer support, members can meet friends who have gone through similar experiences and support each other as they find wellness. Programming includes art, meals, education and employment support, camping, music and more. (https://www.lainghouse.org/)
We’ll be gathering donations for their Holiday Stocking program. Drop off your donations throughout December (give them to your coach, parent rep or a Board member; drop off at the HTAC office at Dalplex) and we’ll provide to Laing House in support of their members.
Requested donations include:
- Socks – wool, sport, dress, fun, anything you would want yourself!
- Personal care items such as shampoo and conditioner, razors and shaving cream, body wash, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, lip balm
- Bus tickets
- Gift cards for
typically $5 - $10)
- Grocery cards
- Monetary donations
The December 22 social event will be posted to the HTAC website soon so you can register your swimmer’s participation. Swimmers will earn one volunteer point.
