Socal Repeats as WAG Champs / Zinn Sets Records in Texas

We had a big team win in Ventura and an outstanding individual performance in Texas this week.

Socal won for the second consecutive year the Winter Age Group Championship this weekend in Ventura.  The team led by Coach Vickie, Coach Ben, and Coach Kyle scored 3,563 points which was 300 points more than the next team.  There were too many great individuals performances to point out and the key to the victory was the depth and quality of the relays.

In  Austin, Texas swimming in his first Junior Nationals, Tona Zinn (14) broke three SCS records in the 200 IM (1:49.32), 400 IM (3:52.53) and the 200 Fly (1:49.84).  The 400 IM time just missed the National Record and is the second fastest 400 IM in history for a 13-14-year-old swimmer.

Great job Socal and Tona!
