2018 Junior Nationals West - Men's Champions!

2018 Junior Nationals West - Men's Team Champions!

For the first time in the history of our program,  the Sierra Marlins won the Junior Nationals West Men's team championship - and we did it with just 6 men!  This is a monumental achievement for our club and one that shows not only the incredible dedication and work ethic of every swimmer involved, but relied on the support of teammates, coaches, parents, supporters, alumni, and everyone else that has helped us build one of the strongest programs in the country.   Congratulations Men!

Swimming in Austin, TX from December 5th - 9th,  Our men started off the meet with 2 national title relay victories in the 200 Medley relay and 800 Free relay.   From there, the excellence continued with three more top-3 relay finishes, numerous individual finalists,  a handful of podium appearances, excitement, emotion, competitive fire, and most of all..FUN!   Congratulations to Finn O'Haimhirgin, Colby Mefford, Ben Dillard, Jack Gillespie, Sean Swift, and Sammy Meyer for representing our team with such a high degree of class and character.   I could not have been more proud to have witnessed and coached such  a phenomenal achievement and have never been so proud to call myself a Sierra Marlin.

Our men were not alone,  they were assisted by a strong female contingent made up of Chloe Clark, Mara Allen, Katie Yule, Amber Myers, and Rylie Jones.   Also having a great meet on their end, our ladies added another degree of fire and excitement that helped bring the hardware home.   Great job ladies!

Congratulations to all of our swimmers on an exceptional few days and for putting our program in the national spotlight.   Our staff can't wait to continue this success into the rest of the short course season and beyond.
