2018 Christmas Cracker SC meet - Victoria Dec. 7-9

2018 Christmas Cracker meet - Dec. 7-9 in Victoria, BC

Report by Coaches Julia V., Bronwyn P. and Corey B.

Thirty-two Whitehorse Glacier Bears swimmers made the trip to Victoria to participate in the annual Pacific Coast Swimming Christmas Cracker meet December 7-9, 2018. The meet was hosted in Saanich Commonwealth Place, the same pool that hosted the Commonwealth Games. The competition was very fast, with swimmers having to race hard in the morning heats in order to earn their spot in the top 16 to race at evening finals.

The coaches were really impressed with the senior swimmers' attitude towards racing. Many of them had back to back events in a session, but they stepped up and raced their hearts out, setting an excellent example for their younger teammates. Everyone was encouraged to come back and watch evening finals to cheer on their teammates and also to watch some of the varsity swimmers participating and to watch and learn from how they race.

Performances worth an extra mention:
