Swim Series 11&12 and Mid-States All Star Meet Newsletter
Swim Series 11&12
FCYST had 87 swimmers attend the OSHY Swim Series 11&12 swim meet this past Friday and Saturday. It was wonderful to see our team back in the pool competing after a few weekends off over the Holidays. It was also wonderful to see one of our former FCYST athletes, Amelia Olson, compete on Friday as well. Amelia moved to Texas the end of this past summer and was in town for a few weeks over the Holidays and wanted to compete in a meet with some of her former teammates. Congrats to Amelia on her awesome 3 races on Friday and thank you to all our families who welcomed the Olson Family back with open arms! Congrats to all FCYST swimmers who participated this past weekend. It was a really fun and quick meet with many best times! Congrats to the following swimmers who swam a Perfect Meet (all best time and all legal swims), had Big Time Drops (a personal best of at least 10 seconds in a single race), and who achieved a new State Qualifying Time.
Perfect Meet: Parker Davis, JD Dursch, Zachary Handwerker, Faith Herzog, Bailey Mader, Jillian Schneider, Madison Sikes, Kacie Stamm, Trey Truettner, Samantha Ward and Madison Witz.
Big Time Drop: Alex Cardona-Gamez, Jake Duquaine, Bryn Hansen, Katie Hintz, Alex Kanable, Ada Schaefer, Jillian Schneider and Kacie Stamm.
New YMCA State Qualifying Times: Ada Schaefer (Open 1000 Freestyle).
Mid-States All Star Meet
Team Wisconsin participated in the Mid-States All Star Meet this past weekend against the best and brightest stars from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio. To participate in this meet, swimmers with qualifying times needed to apply. Team Wisconsin took the 4 fastest swimmers from all applicants in each event to participate at IUPUI in Indianapolis. Ana Flanagan was chosen to swim in 3 individual events and swam on one relay for Team Wisconsin. Ana had a great meet and finished 6th in the 100 Breast, 3rd in the 200 Medley Relay, 13th in the 100 IM, and 7th in the 50 Breast. Congrats on an awesome weekend of swimming!
