January 10, 2019
Happy New Year Trojans! We hope you enjoyed a wonderful break and are reinvigorated for the next half of the swim season.
The HTAC Holiday Hoopla held on December 22 was a great success. Thanks to all the swimmers who participated and families who donated to Laing House. What a great way to kick off the holidays. Local photographer Pat MacDonald was on hand to capture the fun and he is making his photos available to Trojan members free of charge. Check them out and download them here - www.pmacdonald.ca/ClientGalleries/TrojanAquaticClub. Please credit Pat either at @PatMacDonaldPhotography or www.pmacdonald.ca if you use the photos. He is working on the team photo, and we’ll share that soon.
SportSweep Ticket drop off
Heather Myrer will be at Dalplex this Saturday, January 12 between 9 and 10am to accept SportSweep ticket stubs. We will schedule a few more drop off times over the several weeks. Please do not drop ticket stubs at the HTAC office. Sport Nova Scotia manages this program and will draw the winners from returned ticket stubs in March 2019.

HTAC Volutneer Points
As mentioned in the December team newsletter, our Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for monitoring our mandatory volunteer point program. The Co-Chair/Chair of Officials and lead coordinators submit earned points to the Volunteer Coordinator who then tracks and reports points for each family.
Families will receive a detailed status report that will include their mandatory volunteer point requirement, earned points (with details on how the points were earned) and outstanding point balance. In the meantime, you can check your overall balance by signing in to your account on HTAC.ca, go to My Account>MyReports>ServiceHoursForecast
The volunteer point policy can be found on HTAC.ca. If you have any questions, contact Scott Bateman at email@example.com
David Fry Nova Scotia Provincial Championships
HTAC is co-hosting the 2019 Provincial Championships at Dalplex taking place February 28 to March 3, 2019. Planning is well underway to ensure this is a great success. We are looking for some specific volunteers:
Canteen lead – 2 points
Canteen volunteers – 1 point per shift
Hospitality Suite volunteers – 1 point per shift
Silent Auction lead - 4 points
If you’re interested in any of these opportunities, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
We’ll be producing a meet program and selling ad space. Ad rates remain the same as last year: ¼ page (4.25” X 5.5”) - $50, ½ page (8.5” X 5.5”) - $100, full page (8.5” X 11”) - $200. Please send completed black and white ad in high-resolution JPG or PDF to Lorna Bateman at email@example.com by February 21. Members who sell ads in the program are credited half of the ad revenue – either as credit to their account or as volunteer points (1 point = $50). For example, members who sell a ½ page ad would receive $50 credit to their account or earn 1 volunteer point. The remaining portion of the ad sale goes to the team. Payment arrangements for advertisers can be made with Maggie at firstname.lastname@example.org
HTAC Travel Fundraising Policy
