January 13th Weekly Splash 2019

JANUARY 13 WEEKLY SPLASH 2019

Thought of the Week: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader!” – President John Quincey Adams

TEAM NEWS:

Swimmer of the Meet Winners for the Swim Tulsa Meet= High Octane - Regan Patzkowski, Junior Octane - Gabby Burke, Age Group – Zane Deal, and Developmental groups – Maxwell Stuart.

All winners announced here, please see your coach to pick up your prize!

68th Annual Meet of Champions – I personally want to thank everyone for all of your hard work and time commitment to make this meet a success.    Great job and  shout-out to the swimmers for their perseverance and grit in swimming fast, achieving a lot of personal best times, and success in finals.    Congratulations!

Parents and Swimmers:

1)     Parents – as the weather is getting colder and the darkness comes in much earlier before the end of evening practices, the staff and Phillips safety guidelines, would like to stress that coming in our building to pick up your child after practice is a fantastic idea.   It not only helps make sure that you can speed them up getting dressed, and you can keep an eye on them as you exit the building, but it gives you a chance to talk to the other parents or ask the coaches questions or just get to know them a little better.    Thank you for your cooperation!

2)     Dressing appropriately coming to and from the pool building is a very important issue.   Seeing swimmers leave the building with wet towels on their legs, with no pants on (just a parka), flip flops, wet hair, and not much of a coat are all things the coaches are noticing and speaking up to the swimmers about our concerns.    When you are working as hard as you are, your immune system will be stressed and can break down over time.   Not taking care of keeping yourself warm, when leaving the building, can lead to the possibility of getting sick or keeping yourself sick for a longer period of time.   Proper nutrition and hydration, better sleeping habits, lessoning your stress levels, and dressing more appropriately for the weather will help lessen the possibility of prolonged illness.  Please take care of yourself!

SWIM GROUP NOTES:
