What an exciting meet this evening between the LCN Crusaders and the Anchor Bay Tars. The final score of the meet was LCN 93 Anchor Bay 92. The meet was extremely exciting. LCN had the largest lead (7 points)of the night after the 50 free. Anchor Bay fought back and took the lead during diving and expanded it to a 6 point lead by the end of the 100 Fly. LCN slowly fought back and by the end of the 100 Breast LCN closed the gap to just one point. For LCN to win the meet, the team was going to have to win the 400 Free Relay. The team of Nick Agnello, Parker Brown, AJ Archer and Kyle Mowid put together an incredible race and managed to beat Anchor Bay by 8 tenths of a second.
If had not been for how well the entire team competed tonight, they would never had a chance to have had the opportunity to win the meet. The following swimmers posted best times in the following events this evening: 200 Free - Parker Brown, Austin Cunningham & Zach Moscarello, 200 IM - Zach Tauriainen, & Tyler Leverenz, 50 Free - Nick Agnello & Ian McSherry, 100 Fly - Tim Ivanov, Steve Figueras, Anthony Malone & Danny Scully, 100 Free - AJ Archer & Zach Moscarello, 500 Free - Matthew Mattison & Jakub Voight and 100 Back - Luis Lalone & Miguel Torres.
Tonight was a great victory for the team, but the season is far from over. The boys are on pace to claim the Dual Meet Championship, but it will take a great deal of work to claim this championship. Romeo and Ford are swimming extremely well. Anchor Bay only defeated St. Clair by 20 points. These are our final three meets in the Division.
This is an extremely tight Division and the MAC White Division Meet will be extremely interesting. I know for a fact that Anchor Bay is going to be working extremely hard to defeat LCN at the Division Meet. The LCN Boys are going to have to work harder than they have in the past if they want to claim both Championships.
Presently, the following swimmers have qualified to compete at the Macomb County Championship Meet: Jarrett Geddes, Kyle Mowid, Zach Tauriainen, AJ Archer, Austin Cunningham, Parker Brown, Timofei Ivanov & Nick Heitchue. There are a number of swimmers that have the potential to qualify for this meet and with enough encouragement, I believe they can make their cuts.
