Plunge Recap

What a great day!  We were so fortunate to have 2-time Olympian Katie Hoff join us on a beautfiul January Sunday!

After listening to Katie speak to our team, we were able to get photos with her as she signed autographs and shared her Olympic Silver and Bronze Medals.  The donations were adding up through the Mobile Cause app as well as at the registration table.  With just $2300 to go to make our goal fo $20,000, Katie Hoff offered to plunge if we collected the $2300 and we did!  THANK YOU!!!!!

With the outpouring of support we were able to raise over $20,000 towards the Give A Kid the Y financial assistance scholarship program that enables families and children in need to be a part of our great Y.

Our top 3 fundraisers were: Dylan Ferdico (3rd), Maddy Cromwell (2nd), and Kat Terhune (1st).  Thanks to California Beach Hut for providing the prizes for these top fundraisers!  Stop by the office to claim your prizes.

Thanks to the Lore Family & Walmart for their donations to enable us to host an event like this each year.  Thanks also goes to Promo Gear for donating the t-shirts to our plungers.  And finally thank you to all of our volunteers that help this event run so effortlessly.  John Bota broke through the ice to provide for our plunging area.  John Bernauer headed the bonfire crew of volunteers that set up on Saturday and kept us warm all day.  Melissa Corbo helped coordinate our heated tents and our check-in crew of volunteers.  Sherene Lall organized our food for all participants.  Karen Scornavacca designed our Step & Repeat backdrop for great pictures with Katie Hoff as well as the signage for the event.  All of you demonstrate such a great example of giving of your time and effort.  THANK YOU!

I'm so proud of our team, parents, and staff.  I hope you all enjoyed the event and we are looking forward to next year!  Here are the photos from the day courtesy of the professional photographer:
