What is Swim-a-Thon?
Swim-a-Thon is a fundraiser where participants earn money for their team by swimming lengths of the pool. Swimmers have a two-hour period to swim a maximum of 200 lengths. Participants get pledges from businesses, family and neighbors prior to the Swim-a-Thon event. Swim-a-Thon is trademarked by USA Swimming.
Why should my swimmer participate in Swim-a-thon?
It’s a fun day of swimming and achieving goals!
It’s a great way to help meet your fundraising goals!
Everyone receives a participation prize!
Raffle drawings done for USSC items!
What are my goals?
Swimmers have a two-hour period in which to swim as many lengths as they can in their time slot. Swimmers are not required to swim the entire 2 hour time period, they may take breaks, and use equipment (except Senior groups-no equipment). There is no minimum amount of lengths or minimum fundraising that your swimmer is committed to, but this is a great way for each swimmer to challenge themselves at this team event. This is a fun event for swimmers to set goals and see if they can reach them.
When are pledges/donations due?
You and your swimmer will be responsible to collect pledges and submit them to the club by February 15, 2019. Pledges not turned in at the Swim-A-Thon can be placed in the Swim-A-Thon folder located in the top drawer of the family filing cabinet. Checks should be made payable to USSC. The full amount raised by your swimmer(s) will be credited to your family fundraising account. Pledges turned-in after February 15th, 2019 will not be credited to the current fundraising season. Late donations will be credited to the 2019-2020 fundraising season.
