FAST Winter Open Recap
January 24, 2019
FAST hosted the Winter Open this past weekend, and it was a successful meet! Multiple teams from Northern Colorado attended. This was a timed finals meet, so the 12 and unders competed in the morning sessions and the 13 and overs competed in the afternoon each day. FAST swimmers did a great job racing each event, and there were a large number of best times!
This meet was special because everyone in the pool swam for Juliana Hess; a young FAST swimmer who is currently fighting cancer. There were caps for sale at each session that read "Together for Juliana," and all of the proceeds went to the Hess family. It was incredible to see all of the FAST swimmers, as well as athletes from other teams, swim united wearing those caps. We truly are a family, and everyone this weekend came together to support one of our own.
Thank you to all of the FAST volunteers that helped ensure that this meet ran smoothly! It was a profound and successful meet.
We are looking forward to continuing to train hard and prepare for the end of the season!
