PVA sent 31 athletes to compete at the Upper Valley Aquatics Center in White River Junction, Vermont this past weekend! During this 1 day sprint meet, PVA had athletes of all ages competing and cheering each other on. Starting off the morning strong we had Brie Bergeron, Mira Boyer, Sunny Cart, Courtland Cart, Addison Colvin, Noah Fredette, Lydia Gaudreau, Mia Holmgren, Sophia Holmgren, Samantha Honecker, Lillian Howe, Anna Lamontagne, Gabriella Nicastro, Savannah Shustack, and Bayleigh Tatro. Everyone swam extremely well and we had first time competititors Brie, Mira, Courtland, Lydia, Lillian and Gabriella all come away with amazing swims and smiles!
In the afternoon session PVA sent another 15 athletes and 1 coach to compete. We had Grace Burhans, Poppy Carothers, Ian Fredette, Molly Harper, Julia Holmgren, Josie Howe, Emily Johnson, Cole Kuster, Graham Maramag, Abigail Scholl, Lydia Shustack, Harper Stevenson, Samantha Stevenson, Asa Stone, and Knowl Stroud along with Coach Dan who all set many personal bests as they raced to some tight finishes. This also marked a first official competition for Knowl and Josie who both walked away with many great races under their belt. Josie and Knowl both competed in the 100 yard freestyle, 50 yard backstroke, 50 yard freestyle and 50 yard breaststroke and Knowl swam his way to a 7th place finish in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 48.68. Also leaving his mark on the day, Cole Kuster set CVI meet records in the 200 yard freestyle (1:44.01) and the 200 IM (1:59.87).
