CHENA 12 AND UNDER MEET- Coach Kennedy
This weekend we had an excited crew of 25 VPSC athletes make the drive across the bridge to race at the Harry Jerome Pool in North Vancouver. We had several swimmers race in their first official swim meet, as well as many get a chance to try new races including relays!

Number of Top 10 Swim: 49
Silver Highlights:
Natalie Gan, Keven Pi, Jerry Liu, Mia Horan, Shane Cho, Cate Shumka, Pauline le Billon, Tamar Shalev, and Sydney Wittenberg raced in their first non-PASS Meet with VPSC
Andy Yang took 10 seconds off his 100IM best time
Sydney Wittenberg completed her first 100 meter race with 100BK in 1:56.64
Shane Cho took 8 seconds off his 50BR best time
Mia Horan got best times by 5 seconds or more in all of her events
Gold Highlights:
Lucy Pashby raced hard to take 15 seconds off her 200IM and get her LMR time
Iona Abolmaesumi, Guita Brain and Filip Milosevski also achieved huge best times in 200IM
The girls did very well in 50 Fly, Hannah Baang in 1st, Noelle Deschambault in 4th, Ava Anderson in 9th, and Iona Abolmaesumi in 10th
VPSC Girls 4x50 Freestyle A Relay won their heat by more than 10 seconds for a 4th place overall finish
Owen Tao even split his 100BK to get a best time by 16 seconds
Thanks to the parents and relatives for driving the swimmers out to the pool and for cheering on the deck. We had a great weekend.
The Senior Regional swimmers were back racing for the second weekend in a row at the CHENA Distance Meet. Mark Zhitnirsky swam to the LMR Championship qualifying time in the 400 FR with a 7 second personal best time. Jack He swam the 400 FR for the first time in competition while Lucia Pochynok raced the 800 FR for the first time in her career. Ramon Siytangco put together a fantastic race in the 400 IM to race it for the first time ever. The Senior Regional group will now begin preparing for the LMR Championships which take place in two weeks.
