DOUBLE LAST CHANCE/LAST CHANCE MINI MEET ENTRIES

The deadline to sign up for the Double Last Chance meet and Last Chance Mini meet is tonight.  Anyone planning on competing in these meets should take care of entries tonight.

Keep in mind that the maximum cutoff times for the Double Last Chance meet have been changed from previous years.  Swimmers can enter into events in which they have not obtained the qualifying time for the Elite Showcase Classic for 9-14s, or the Junior National Cup for 15 & Overs.

With these meets being the last chance for swimmers to prepare for championship meets, various documents have been posted on each meet's page.  Meet announcements for Mini Champs, Bronze Champs, Silver Champs, Senior Champs, and the Elite Showcase Classic are available.  Qualifying times for Bronze Champs, Silver Champs, Senior Champs, and the Elite Showcase Classic are available.  Eligibility reports for Mini Champs, Bronze Champs, and Silver Champs are available.  Please use these to help you in selecting events for your swimmer.

The coaches may be changing entries for swimmers, in preparation for the championship meets in March and April.

DOUBLE LAST CHANCE/LAST CHANCE MINI VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Volunteer positions for the Double Last Chance meet and Last Chance Mini meet will open tonight at 9:00 PM.

A couple things are different about the volunteering for this weekend.  First, one new volunteer position has been added for the Double Last Chance meet.  There is now a Set-up Volunteer, to help the coaching staff haul things downstairs from the parking lot, or set up various things for the meet, before people arrive.  The Announcer position is back from last year for the Double Last Chance meet, since we will need to make announcements to the crowd about who has qualified for finals.

More importantly, there are finals sessions for the Double Last Chance meet.  Preliminary sessions, in the morning each day, will be worth the normal 5 points per position.  However, finals sessions, in the evening each day, will be worth 7 points per session.  If you want to volunteer regardless of if/when your swimmer is in the meet, volunteering for finals ahead of time would be most beneficial.  For those with swimmers in the meet, if your swimmer makes finals, Delaware Swim Team expects you to volunteer at finals.  You do not need to sign up ahead of time in order to volunteer; you can approach the Meet Volunteer Coordinator and that person can put you into any open position that suits you.

CONTRACT EXTENSIONS

If you have an End-of-March contract and plan on swimming until Memorial Day weekend, we can extend your contract for you.  It is easiest for us to extend your contract before February 28, because then the automatic billing switches to continuing through April, and the last month of your contract becomes May, meaning that May will become the month paid for at registration.  If you want to extend the contract of your swimmer(s), contact Ann at office@delawareswimteam.com.

METHODS OF COMMUNICATION

Have you ensured that you have multiple ways for the administrative staff to contact you in the event of a weather event?  With winter here, and the chance for short-notice practice changes possible, please check to make sure you have more than one way for us to get a hold of you.

First, we continue to primarily communicate through email.

In the event of emergencies or immediate changes, Delaware Swim Team will also use Twitter and push notifications via the OnDeck app.  To get text notifications of team tweets, text "Follow DelSwimTeam" (no quotes) to 40404.  You do not need to have a Twitter account to receive team tweets in text message form.

You can also get notifications via text and the OnDeck app (which is TeamUnify's app).  In your Delaware Swim Team account, enter the number that you would like text messages sent to in the SMS field.  The mobile phone number field will NOT receive text messages; only the SMS field will receive texts.  Additionally, if you have the OnDeck app and logged into your Delaware Swim Team account via the app, you can also get push notifications through the app.

Thanks,
The Delaware Swim Team coaching staff
