In addition, 93% of participating swimmers had at least 1 best time, and 5 swimmers achieved best times in 100% of their events. Eleven swimmers achieved a whopping 34 state cuts overall.

Congratulations to those swimmers who made their first ever short course state cuts:  Evan Boller (10), Broc Hafl (10), Mason Hibbard (10), Will Hartig (10) and Anna Stanke (12). Also, a round of applause to those who added additional cuts to their already stacked list: Holly Brundage (11), Joe Dill (11), Emma Liebler (10), Jorge Oquendo (12), Andrey Radkevich (12), and Caleb Vereb (11).

30 swimmers finished in the top 16 of their events as you will see in the chart below. Big kudos to Broc Hafl, Ryan Lorack, and Andrey Radkevich for posting top 3 finishes in all their events. These three swimmers along with Holly Brundage, Joe Dill, Will Hartig, and Emma Liebler all earned first place finishes in one of their events as well!

Tidewater Regionals (February 22-24)

Our 13 and over swimmers also rose to the occasion with multiple time drops and lots of new age group and senior state cuts to boot!

This year’s Regional championship team had 23 swimmers participating. Our swimmers reeled in 12 new state cuts including first-time qualifications for Niamh Kastner (15) in the 100 Fly and Walker Keithley (14) in the 100 Breast and 100 Free. Delaney Gibbons (13) also added 6 new cuts to bring her to a full slate at the state meet, and she finished top 3 in all her events with three 1st place finishes. Dillon Delaney (15), Niamh Kastner (15) and Sean Thomas (13) had commendable 2nd place finishes in one event apiece, while Chris Homer (16) and Sean Thomas (13) each added one extra state cut to tack onto their previous list!

There were 7 swimmers who earned best times in 100% of their events, and 13 swimmers landed top 16 finishes. 88% of our Regionals swimmers had best times in three or more of their events.

Great job, 757swim!
