Sixteen Manta Ray Aquatics swimmers recently attended the Short Course Championship meet in Moscow, ID.  There were numerous time drops and top finishes from both the male and female sides. Max Boruff (16) dropped time in his 50 free to break the 25 second mark for the first time.  Nicholas Moore (14) placed 8th in the 1650 free and dropped nearly five seconds from his 200 free. Damien Paluch (12) finished in the top 8 in the 50 breast and 100 free. Marcus Quezada (9) placed 6th in the 100 fly and 7th in the 50 fly.  Zachary Washburn (15) was 2nd in the 200 I.M. and 100 back and 3rd in the 500 free and 200 back.

Dallie Cobb (10) cut nearly a second off her 50 back time to finish in 11th place.  Aline Davis (11) posted a best time in her 50 free. Kathryn Duvall (11) dropped over a second in her 50 free to break 30 seconds for the first time.  She also had a best time in her 100 breast. Sofia Estudillo (10) cut almost three seconds off her 100 breast time. Julia Heaps (12) dropped over two seconds in her 500 free to finish in 8th place.  She also had best times in her 50 free and 200 free. Laurel Knox (15) had best times in all of her events, dropping time in the 200 I.M., 50 free, 200 free, 100 free and 100 fly. She finished in 15th place in the 100 free and 14th in the 200 free.  Melody Lake (12) finished in 3rd place in the 50 breast, 8th in the 200 free, and 6th in the 100 breast. She also had best times posted in all of her events and was a member of two relay record breaking teams. Issabelle Parrish (12) cut nearly a second in her 50 free.  Sister Makhaela (14) followed suit with a second drop in her 50 free and 100 free and a five second drop in her 200 free. Kendall Vance (10) placed 3rd in the 200 free, 4th in the 200 I.M., 2nd in the 50 free, 4th in the 100 fly, 3rd in the 100 free, 4th in the 100 breast, and 6th in the 100 I.M. The team of Julia Heaps, Melody Lake, Aline Davis and Issabelle Parrish broke the Manta Ray record in the 200 medley relay.  On the following day, with Heaps, Lake, Parrish and Kathryn Duvall, the 200 freestyle relay record was also broken.
