Provincial SCM Report

Silver Tide had 5 swimmers competing at the first qualifying meet of the season, Alberta Provincials Short Course held on March 1-3, 2019 in Calgary. Well done to Sienna Cyca-Loree, Logan Dagenais, Dominique Duguay, Henry Mackay and Parker Mackenzie on qualifying for the meet! In total Silver Tide left with 1 new Alberta Championship qualifier (Henry), 3 medals and 19 personal best times!

Day 1 Highlight Performance: 

  • Sienna Cyca-Loree - 400 Freestyle. Entered with a time of 5:25.63 Sienna dropped 19.28 seconds while swimming out of lane 1 for a final time of 5:06.35 and moving up 8 places in the rankings!

Day 2 Highlight Performance:

  • Parker Mackenzie - 200 Backstroke. Swimming his main qualifying event for the meet Parker knocked off another 3.80 seconds off his previous best time, moving him from 15th to 8th place and earning Silver Tides first final swim of the competition!

Day 3 Highlight Performance:

  • Henry Mackay - 200 Freestyle. One of the top performances of the weekend was found on the last day where Henry shaved off 3.30 seconds, earning him a spot in the final. That night Henry dropped another 2.13 seconds for a final time of 2:19.42, which was good enough for 2nd place and his third medal of the meet!
