KSC qualifies 7 more for Champs

The Killarney Swim Club sent a contingent of 31 swimmers to the AB Provincial Meet last weekend.  This was the last chance for swimmers to qualify for the AB Championships.  Swimmers could qualify by winning an event at Provincials or making 2 Championship times.

Killarney swimmers won 11 events and qualified 7 more swimmers for the Championships.  Event winners were, Kyra Colbourne, Brandon Hachey, Matthew MacDonald, Morgan Meldrum, Balazs Moldovan, Sam Wise, and Jaxon Wolff.

KSC athletes also won 10 silver and 10 bronze medals.  These swimmers include the previously mentioned swimmers plus, Cole Childrey, Molly Fleming, Nathan Lew, Shaela Rideout, Liam Ruzicka, Grace Turner, Shirley Tu.

Over 100 personal best times were achieved.

“It was an exciting weekend of racing, we had lots of personal break throughs from new qualifiers, medal winners, first time finalists, and significant best times,” said a pleased Coach Mori.

Killarney will send a contingent of 23 athletes to the Alberta Champs in Edmonton next week.
