March 12, 2019
If you have looked at the meet calendar recently on the website, you will notice that our summer long course meet schedule has been added. I know that it is March and it may seem like a long way off, but we need to get organized and ready for when these meets become available for sign up. As competitive as it is to get us entered in short course meets, it is even more so for long course meets. These meets fill up FAST!! It is vitally important for us to be able to send in an entry file the same day each meet is posted in order for us to guarantee our spot.
Please take a few moments to review the meet calendar and commit your swimmer(s) to the meets you plan on attending. As I have said many times, it is much easier for me to pull you out of a meet a week before than it is to add you in a week before. Please commit to any/all meets you think you may/will attend.
The meets at Hofstra and LIAC are open to all SSC swimmers, Developmental through Seniors. The SSC Mad Dash Meet is once again being held at NCAC Eisenhower Park in July, and while it is a home meet, it is NOT automatic sign up. Parents must sign up for this meet in order to be included. We are going to be doing special caps this year for the Mad Dash that will be distributed only to the SSC swimmers competing in the meet.
We are offering three (3) travel meets this long course season. The NLAC May Summer Kickoff Meet at Penn State in May, the RAC Sandbox Invitational in July, and the ISCA TYR Summer Senior Championship Meet in Florida in late July / early August. The Penn State Meet is open to everyone. We have close to 50 swimmers entered already, and we have already submitted our first entry file. If you would like to be included, I recommend committing ASAP. The Sandbox and ISCA meets are both qualifier meets. If your swimmer qualifies, I will contact you personally to discuss whether or not your swimmer(s) will participate.
