Dear Swimmers and Parents,
We certainly had an exciting, exhausting and productive weekend…..
At the AA Meet in Jenison, forty swimmers raced to a third-place finish. Drew Madigan (who turned ten in January) finished third in the overall high point race for 10 and under boys and won the 9-10 500 free . Our other top-eight swimmers included Olivia Kamp, Quinn Norlander, Charlie McQuiston, Nate Stebbins, Kelly Hassett, Erin Madigan, Abby Stanley, AJ Farner, Jack Higgins, Joey Stebbins, Evan Tack and Joe Wiater. Our relays were sensational. Many valuable lessons were learned. One reflection, the swimmers mentioned how important it is to pursue the longer events, to eat properly and to warm-up and cool down for each race. We are already in good shape for this meet next season as many of the swimmers were eight, nine and eleven-years-old and have already qualified. That’s a nice spot!
At the three boys’ high school meets we added Christian Bouchillon (100 back,) Drew Collins (100 back,) Cami Wilson (100 fly,) Jerome Wiater (200 IM,) and Nick Ludwig ( 100 free,) to our National Team. They joined Sam Hoover, Jimmy Violassi and Aidan O’ Neill who qualified at their league meets a little earlier in the season.
At the “Day-After” Meet, Francesca Schena qualified for Nationals in the 100 back and we added many new events for the Great Lakes Zone Meet at Ohio State this upcoming weekend.
The coaches could not be prouder!
