SCSC successes at Sectional meet

Sarpy County Swim Club took a record number of swimmers (17) to the Sectional meet in Columbia, Missouri last weekend (3/7-3/10). There were lots of great swims, including finals qualifiers, records, and personal bests. Many of our swimmers were competing in their first Sectional meet. Great job SCSC swimmers!

On the women's side, the 200 Free Relay placed 16th, the 200 Medley Relay placed 18th, and the 400 Free Relay placed 17th. Olivia Dendinger finished 4th in the 50 breast, 10th in the 100 breast, and 11th in the 200 breast. Mia Snow had finals swims in the 50 fly and 100 free.

For the men, the 200 and 400 medley relays placed 2nd, with each one breaking the Senior Midwestern Swimming record. The 200 free relay placed 7th. The 400 free relay made up of 15-16 year-olds broke the Midwestern 15-16 record for that event and placed 11th.

Mark Cavanaugh placed 6th in the 50 back, 12th in the 100 back, and 16th in the 200 back. He was part of the record-breaking medley relays.

Hunter Smithson was 20th in the 200 free, 28th in the 100 back, 32nd in the 500 free, and 26th in the 100 free. Hunter swam on the medley relays that placed 2nd and broke MW records.

Thomas Lundin achieved multiple personal bests, including a 19th place finish in the 200 fly. He swam on the record-breaking 15-16 400 free relay.

Mateo Miceli placed 2nd in the 200 backstroke, achieving a Summer Junior National qualifying time! He also placed 10th in the 100 back and 17th in the 50 back. He was part of the 2nd place medley relays.

Luke Barr won the 200 breastroke and placed 2nd in the 100 breast and 50 back. He was also 4th in the 100 free. He swam on the record-breaking medley relays and 400 free relay.
