After combining the team scores from the 12/Under and 13/Over State meets, Somerset Valley YMCA has won our tenth NNJYMCA State Championship! The Girls Team also finished 1st Overall, while the Boys Team finished 4th.
The title run was highly contested and came down to the last day of competition at the 13/Over meet. The 12/Unders put the team in perfect position in the team score, finishing 2nd overall and over 100 points ahead of eventual 2nd place finisher Red Bank. Our 13/Overs battled back and forth all weekend before pulling away on the last day of the meet thanks to another strong showing from the distance team in the 1650 FR, combined with an impressive Sunday finals session that featured countless move-ups from prelims seeding.
Congratulations to the below age-group top two finishers:
11-12 Girls - 2nd Place
13-14 Girls - 1st Place
15-18 Girls - 1st Place
15-18 Boys - 2nd Place
SVY also broke five Franklin & Marshall pool records and seven total team records throughout the weekend. A special congratulations to our two record-breaking girls relays:
