NewsWave March 14

Age Group State – A detailed recap of our Age Group State performance went out earlier this week, and what a performance it was. Congratulations to our AG State team on an outstanding weekend. Check out the recap on the club website and the updated Honor Roll for all the highlights.

Senior State – Good luck to the WTSC Senior State team, who heads to Pike HS this weekend for the final meet of the season! You can follow all the action on Meet Mobile or, if you’d like to check it out in person, prelims begin at 9:30am Friday-Sunday with finals starting at 5pm on Friday & Saturday and 4:30pm on Sunday. An all session pass for the weekend is $25, single day prelim tickets are $10 and finals admission is free, as are all children 12&Under.

Schedule Changes – There have been some small changes to our practice schedule for the remainder of the season. Crest & Tsunami practices have been shortened to 7:15pm this week, and all training groups will finish practice at 7pm next week (regular start time for all groups). Also, Senior practice for next week has been canceled. And finally, our end-of-season pool party has been moved to Thursday of next week, from 5:30-7pm, to give everyone a chance to attend the party and get spring break started promptly on Friday! All reasonable floaties and pool toys are acceptable, and we hope to see you all there.

Snap Raise – As previously communicated, WTSC is embarking on a Snap! Raise fundraising campaign. This is a simple but effective means of generating resources for the club to use on a variety of programs and we want to see all WTSC swimmers participate! Swimmers are encouraged to submit their list of 40 email contacts to their group coaches by April 13 for a chance to win a Speedo bag packed with prizes, including a $100 gift card to Making Waves. Please speak with Jennifer Buddenbaum if you have questions about the Snap! Raise campaign.

Membership Meeting – More information about the long course season will begin to hit the website next week. However, please note Saturday, April 27 (9am) on your calendars for an important Membership Meeting. This meeting will include the introduction of a new WTSC marketing campaign, further discussion of our fundraising efforts and incentives as well as required Safe Sport programming for all WTSC parents and swimmers. Donuts, juice and coffee will be provided by the club and every swimmer in attendance will receive a WTSC gift. Please save-the-date for this important club event and we will see you on April 27.

Summer Programming – Again, more information about our long course season will be distributed soon but please help us spread the word about two upcoming programs, our summer Riptides session as well as our Summer League Prep package. These programs are perfect to bring new swimmers to WTSC and word-of-mouth is our most effective recruiting tool. Information about both programs is on the WTSC website, and you can speak with Coach Josh or Jennifer Buddenbaum if you have questions about either program.
