Big CONGRATULATIONS to all who qualified and swam this past weekend at the 2019 Short Course Junior Olympics Championship held at the Rose Bowl!!!
Alessandro Inostroza, age 9, our youngest qualifier, who swam in the 50 yard fly
Brandon Lin, one of the youngest in the group, swam seven events and swam in 6 finals! Notable was his performance in the 100 Breast where he placed 3rd overall. Plus a 5th overall finish in the 100 yard Back and 7th overall in the 200 IM!
Jean Darbo, age 11, swam five events and recorded 3 time improvements in the 50 Free, 100 Fly and the 50 Fly!
Uzziel Corona, age 12, who swam the 50 Free at 26.81!
Canyon Marasigan, age 12, swam four individual events, breaking once again the 26 second mark in the 50 Free at 25.91!
Aiden Mertzel, age 12, swam five individual events, of which he qualified for the finals in two of them. The 50 Breast where he ended up snagging 5th place overall and also the 100 yard Breast where he placed 12th overall.

Ava Khatibi, age 14 who swam the 100 and the 200 Fly, her favorite events!
I would also like to congratulate our boys 11-12 relay team for some amazing achievements over the weekend! In the 400 Free Relay the combination of Uzziel, Jean, Canyon and Aiden swam a 3:51.61 a whopping 4 second drop from previous meets.
The same team also swam the 400 Medley and improved by 6 seconds with a time of 4:19.54 for 12th place overall to garner 8th place overall.
They also swam the 200 Free relay, again with an improved time of 1:44.49 giving them 9th place overall.
Lastly, these boys swam the 200 Medley relay at 1:55.76 and was awarded 4th place overall, again an improvement of 3 seconds!
Again, congratulations to all of our Vision Swimmers…it goes without saying that all your hard work has paid off.
Thanks of course to your parents who have sacrificed a lot! And lastly to our coaches, who have been instrumental in your development. Keep up the good work! Hope to see you and others in the next JO! Good luck with Long course!
