A Note from Hongjun Zhu
Dear LAMVAC Members,
What a weekend! Despite the light rain on Saturday morning, we had a fantastic meet this weekend. To EVERYONE who volunteered at the meet, you were great! We can’t thank you enough for all the food donations, your time at each station, some quick thinking, last minute runs and most of all, the super-sonic clean up Sunday afternoon.
A big thank you to our incredible volunteer leads: Volunteer Coordinator Christie Heit, Head Marshall Fatima Umg, Snack Bar lead Erika Retana, and Hospitality lead Olga Kolesnikova. They worked long and hard, and the success of the meet rests largely with each one of them.
Special thanks to Evan Bigall for being our Head Starter and for putting in a lot of official hours for our club this season.
And thank you to Lisa Aronovitz for continue offering your guidance and help to ensure we have a smooth meet and to Darrel Hoffman for sticking around both days to help train new computer operators.
I also want to thank Jeremy Heit and Evan Bigall (again!) for coming Friday night to help finish setting up! It was not an easy task putting up all the tents and setting up the blocks in the dark while it was raining!
Last but not least, thank you to all of our coaches for taking care of our kids.
And to all the swimmers, you were truly amazing! Keep swimming and keep racing! We look forward to seeing all of you at our next C/B/A+ meet May 18 and 19 at Foothill College. Remember to talk with your coaches about the swim meet, if you have questions. And parents, please stay tuned for the job signups.
Thank you all, and see you in May!
