CDST had seven swimmers participated in the 2019 Spring Short Course Junior Olympics! All swimmers did well and got many best times, and five swimmers were on the Top 10 list.
Finalist Individuals Highlights
Angela D'amelio qualified in all freestyle events. She raced from 50 Free to 1650 Free! This meet is during her heave training load and high-intensity weeks at Elite Group, but she dropped seven seconds in her mile and got a Seventh place overall.
Eric Meng just turned 11, and this was the first meet after his age-up. He dropped 3.26 seconds in the 200 Back and placed sixth. His 100 Fly was in ninth place and with a personal best time, 1:08.80.
Edward Huang was not fully recovering and rest for this meet. He has not got many best times in the meet. However, 100 and 200 Back, his two best events, that the final time was placed him in the 7th for both.
Ryin Ruaboro was in two individual finals. In 100 Free and 50 Breast, he placed eighth in both events and got personal best times, 55.25 and 33.07 respectively. Currently, he has 11 Far Western cuts, and he will be racing hard and fast in the coming Far Western Championships!
Justin Ely was his first time racing in finals at Championships meet. He finished 7th in 100 Free with the personal best time, 59.49 and 10th in 50 Free with the time of 27.33. An outstanding experience for him in the Spring JO. We are looking forward to seeing him getting FW cuts and great races in the Long Course Season.
