NORTH HILLS AQUATICS
LONG COURSE (SPRING / SUMMER)
SEASON: APRIL 15th - AUGUST 4th

Hi NHA Families,

The Coaching Staff would like to thank every one for a fun and successful Short Course Season. It was a privilege to be a part of the Team, and have the opportunity to coach the NHA swimmers.

The Long Course season will run April 15th through August 4th. The training groups have been modified to the following: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Gold Performance, and Senior Performance. Group descriptions are provided below and swimmers are to sign up for training group they did in the Short Course Season (swimmers are able to enroll in the next group if approved by the coaching staff)

Bronze = Water Spouts
Silver = TyphoonB
Gold = TyphoonA
Gold Performance = Hurricane Senior Performance = Senior Select

NHA TRAINING GROUPS

Bronze (water spout)

The Bronze group is a developmental training group for swimmers ages 11 and under. To be placed in this group, swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards.

In this group, swimmers will learn the fundamentals and skills of all for competitive strokes, including starts and turns.

The practices will aim to help the swimmers become comfortable and confident in the water.

Group Expectations:

Have fun, listen, and do your best
Be on time
Become legal in all 4 competitive strokes.

Silver (typhoon b)

The Silver Group is an age group program for swimmers ages 9 - 12. To be placed in this group swimmers must be legal is 3 of the 4 competitive strokes

In this group, swimmers will continue to learn the fundamentals and skills of all for competitive strokes, including starts and turns, and be introduced to the principles and practices of aerobic and interval training.

Have fun and respect, listen, and do your best
Be on time
Become legal in all 4 competitive strokes: swim a legal 100 and/or 200 IM Complete 6 x 50 FR on 1:15
Kick 100 yards in under 2:20

Gold (typhoon a)

The Gold Group is an age group program for swimmers ages 10 - 14. To be placed in this group swimmers must be legal in all 4 competitive strokes.

In this group, swimmers will continue to learn the fundamentals and skills of all for competitive strokes, including starts and turns, and will progress in their aerobic development, interval reps and distances, and race strategy.

What swimmers need Snorkel

Fins Paddles Buoy

Group Expectations:
Have fun and respect, listen, and do your best and be a great teammate Train consistently and strive to achieve multiple BB times and FASTER Be Legal in a 200 and/or 400 IM
Complete 10 x 50 FR on 1:00
Kick 100 yards in under 2:00

Gold Performance (hurricane)

The Gold Performance Group is an age group program for swimmers ages 10 - 14. To be placed in this group swimmers must be legal in a 200 IM, make 5 x 100 FR on 1:40, and have multiple BB times.

In this group, swimmers will continue to learn the fundamentals and skills of all for competitive strokes, including starts and turns, and will progress in their aerobic development, interval reps and distances, and race strategy.

What swimmers need Snorkel

Group Expectations:
Have fun and respect, listen, and do your best and be a great teammate
Attend minimum of 4 practices a week and communicate with coaches as to why you would miss practice
Strive to achieve competitive excellence at the local and regional level
Be Legal in a 200 and/or 400 IM

Senior Performance (senior select)

The Senior Performance Group will provide high school aged Student-Athletes with a comprehensive training program in a positive learning environment and an opportunity through commitment, discipline, and hard work, the opportunity to realize their goals.

What swimmers need

Group Expectations:
Have fun and respect, listen, and do your best and be a great teammate
Attend minimum of 4 practices a week and communicate with coaches as to why you would miss practice
Strive to achieve competitive excellence at the local, regional, and national level
Be Legal in a 200 and/or 400 IM
Complete 5 x 100 FR on 1:30
Kick 200 yards in under 4:00
