3 Blue Fins swimmers made their way to Edmonton to compete against the best in Western Canada and came away with some huge improvements and some surprise second swims in finals. Taylor Fitzgerald, Jadyn Johnston and Morgan Langford went to the competition and had to be very independent as Head Coach Chad Webb was unable to attend.
“I wasn’t sure how that would affect the swimmers and every part of me wanted to be there to help them through their biggest competition, but clearly they knew what to do and did it very well!’ – Head Coach Chad Webb.
The 3 swimmers, who were competing again kids 1-2 years older were not intimidated at all and managed to move up significantly in the rankings while Jadyn and Taylor swam their way into second swims in finals and finished up with a handful of new club records.
Morgan moved up over 20 spots in her age group shattering her best event swim by over 3 seconds and finished up 25th overall.
Taylor remarked how cool it was in the finals to sit in a ready room before her event and be marched out on to the deck like it was the Olympics.
Taylor finished up 17th in the 100 Backstroke, and 18th in the 200 Backstroke.
Jadyn finished 18th in the 400 IM, 19th in the 100 Butterfly, and just missed making the 200 Butterfly by 3 tenths of a second.
Club records were achieved with every swim both Taylor and Jadyn did this weekend.
