Week of April 22: High School Champs Continue; PLS LC Meet.

Senior group: Updates to High School Schedule:

Monday - No AM. PM: Sr 4 regular w/dryland. Sr 2/3 regular (no dryland)

Tuesday - PM: Sr 4 regular w/dryland. Sr 2/3 regular (no dryland)

Wednesday - No AM. Sr All 4:45-6:00 (no dryland). Campo/Mira w high school.

Thursday - no workout (DAL's at Campo). Swim w/high school.

Saturday AM - none; DAL @ campo.

Junior group:  Regular workout schedule. Friday Reminder: 5:30-7:00. Saturday AM - none @ PLS Meet - 7:30.  

PLS Meet Timing Sign-Up: Orinda Aquatics is assigned 4 chairs of timing both days of the meet. Swimming in the 400 Free should sign up for the later shift (closer to 400). 400 is a provide your own timer event:  PLS Timing & Officiating Sign-UPs...


Summer Meet Schedule Revision:   June 1&2: PLS Sr Open: All Senior Group, Jr3 & Jr2 13&ups (any 11-12 qualifiers) should enter both days. June 2: Montclair Pent: Jr 1/2 swimmers not attending PLS should enter.  ONDA June 8&9 has been changed to a short course meet - we will not be attending this meet. Sunday, June 9th - Open water swim at Del Valle; swimmers should consider trying it out.

High School Championships - did you know? In high school league championships meets, each team can only send a maximum of 4 individual swimmers into the finals and only 1 relay team. In the NCS championships, each team is only allowed to enter a maximum of 4 swimmers in any individual event (swimmers must meet the minimimum NCS considertion time standard). Only the 40 fastest entries actually make it to the meet (for example, if 55 qualifiers enter an event, qualifier 41 thru 55 do not make the meet). A swimmers is allowed a maximum of 4 events (2 individual/2 relay or 1 individual/3 relays).

Swim Meet Policy: The coaching staff works to put together a meet schedule that provides a balance of racing opportunities along with well needed periods of training between competitions for each group.  Team policy is swimmers follow the meet schedule for their group, with coaches in attendance.
